Hillary Clinton is now the official nominee for the Democratic Party in the 2016 presidential race.

In that, she makes history, despite a contentious primary and the divided climate at the Democratic convention, currently taking place in Philadelphia, PA.

Hillary will formally accept the nomination on Thursday.

Until then, now is a good time as a ever to re-visit her concession speech in 2008:

Support The Stranger

Her words at that time: "Although we weren't able to shatter that highest, hardest glass ceiling this time, thanks to you, it's got about 18 million cracks in it."

Eight years later, here we are.

The DNC proceedings can be streamed live here.
