Can we just fire SPOG? It's fairly obvious that they love exceptions that let them off the hook. Being able to call 911 and expect to get help in a timely fashion is something every American expects because of their tax dollars. They don't expect to be harassed (tazed, maced, beaten) by the same people who are there to protect them.

Worse than that; standing up to said aggression is surely doomed to fail as they have lethal weapons and are not afraid to use them.

It's so chilling to watch the video again. The fact that she could lie so blatantly (laughably, but there's nothing to laugh at here) is one thing. The fact she almost got away with it is another. He had to plead to a misdemeanor before it got dismissed. She pulls over for no perceptible reason to harass an individual who is clearly going about his normal daily routine. I hope he wins a judgment against her. She deserves to be paying him back for the rest of her life. No one deserves the treatment he got. If what she did doesn't represent depriving him of his civil rights, what would?

Whitlatch said Wingate was hostile, represented a potential threat to the public, and she thought she might have to use "lethal force" against him.
I hope everyone is as disgusted as I am at her delusional justification for the potential need to use "lethal force" in this situation ... especially IIRC she had to drive around the block in order to confront Mr. Wingate.

This lack of socialization on the part of police is one reason why I despair at the lack of community policing in large cities - where you have a regular rotation of cops walking the beat (or riding bikes) at least three seasons of the year and getting to know as many people as possible in any neighbourhood, whether the cops actually live there or not. At least then a cop would know that - even if a golf club can be used as a weapon - the man holding it is using it as a walking stick. But I guess that would be just too logical.

Another reason to avoid Starbucks: They hire racist trash for baristas.

I think that it is very sad that terms like "racist trash" are thrown around so freely. Are you all so dense that you can't see that this woman is really mentally ill? No, she should not get her job back. Sure, she probably never should have been hired. But do you really need to destroy this person. She will pay a huge penalty for her actions. The jury will award the victim in this case. Just let her go away and let us not speak of her anymore. Everyone just needs to take a breath or two and scale it down a notch.

@6

Actually Blues it's the taxpayers who will ultimately bear the financial penalty for her actions.

Even if she's acquitted this case has already cost a lot of money that could have been spent on the community (or refunded to taxpayers).

I don't see any evidence of mental illness in this video. Unless being an asshole is suddenly in the DSM..

Please wait...
