Blame the Democratic Party. They rigged the nomination process against the truly popular candidate - now they reap what they have sown. Hopefully, in the coming months, we can watch them implode and be replaced by something that is actually democratic.

@I'm not holding my breath. The Democrats are going to play identity politics for a couple of years and ignore the basic economic issues that many people have: no matter their gender, skin color or religion

Oh, for heaven's sake. Even if Trump is Mugabe, America is not Zimbabwe. America has 200+ years of democratic norms and institutions behind it.

OTOH, urban condescension to rural voters, and the assumption we know what they should want without ever engaging them in a conversation, is apparently universal.

Talking down to America never works, and neither does forcing an unwanted candidate the Elites selected for us.
