We go from a President who committed to do the right thing to a President-elect doing whatever he wants--until he's forced to do otherwise. The contrast is hard to exceed!
2
Trump will do whatever he wants to do and no one will stop him or do anything to oppose him. Well, other than talk and complain. That's my prediction.

Nobody should believe anything Trump says or tweets. The only thing that matters is what he *does.* Trump campaigned in a truth-free zone for 18 months. He shows every sign of wanting to govern from there for 4 years. God help us all.

Check out the U.S. Office of Government Ethics' Twitter feed for a really entertaining and mysterious display of... maybe a U.S. Office trolling the PEOTUS about his "divestment"? Or maybe just calling his bluff? Hard to tell what is happening but it is certainly evidence that we live in interesting times...

I guess Slate already covered this:

http://www.slate.com/blogs/the_slatest/2…

"Regardless of whether OGE is being willfully naive or slyly sarcastic, itโ€™s striking that a federal agency tasked with steering the White House around ethical problems feels Twitter is the best medium to convey its important advice to the incoming president of the United States of America. Sadly, they may be out of other options."

Even if he liquidated every company in a fire sale, and they all removed the Trump brand from everything, he'd still owe millions to Deutsche Bank, the only bank that will touch this fuckup who loses money for everyone who gets near him. Deutsche Bank is going into negotiations with the Justice Department, which Trump will control, over a fine of up to $14 billion. The bank could offer him better loan terms in exchange for a lower fine. Or Trump could threaten a higher fine in exchange for better loan terms. Or in exchange for new loan for some other cockamamie Trump scheme.

He could sell of everything, and pay off every loan, but then he'd be flat broke. And he'd still *want* new loans in the future, from the only place that he can get them: Deutsche Bank.

There is no way out of this. Imagine if somebody had reported all these facts about that asshole *before* the fucking election? He'd have lost the GOP primary, and the general if it came to that, if these cards had been on the table. Now we've only got the Electors to save us, which they are highly unlikely to do.

All this talk is silly. Of course he's not going to do this, or that, or the other thing. He's not going to do anything that he doesn't want to, because what're they gonna do to him, impeach him? Then the Senate would have to put him on trial. Then they'd have to find him guilty. Then he'd just go back to his businesses.

There's no penalty whatsoever go being Trump.

Impeach Trump
