"one of the biggest benefits of coming to Washington was its lack of income tax"

He's not wrong. I can't tell if you're trying to shame him for making sense, or don't understand that people might not be the biggest fans of paying more in taxes.

@2: Even Barbra Streisand?

Trump's biggest accomplishment to date:

Delaying another shitty U2 album is truly something the entire world can get behind.

@3 You'd have to ask Jesus if there's an exemption for her - its his rule.
6
@3:

She's Jewish; they don't believe in Hell, at least not the contemporary Christian depiction of a an underworld ruled over by Satan and filled with fire-and-brimstone where sinners endure eternal torture. Theirs ("Gehennim"), is generally described as more of a spiritual "washing machine".

maybe, just maybe, a person who is owned by a national corporation and told what city they have to live/work in is not the best example of our state's attractiveness. Besides, we're full already.
8
@1 can we shame you for not having the slightest hint of critical thinking skills?

I'd never heard of Lindy West before she'd left Twitter. After that, the only mention Ive seen of her is on the Stranger.

The interview with her on Blabbermouth seems to indicate that she is a big deal on Twitter, and to Eli if nobody else. I've never had a Twitter account, and this may be why I have no idea why I should care about her.

Social media is the digital equivalent of a circle jerk taking place inside a hall of mirrors. Nobody can say much, since you're limited to 140 characters. So, you all seem to specialize in vapid quips and one-liners. The fact that she described herself as a great teacher on Twitter strikes me as odd; aside from Buddhist sanghas and Hindu ashrams, most teachers use more than 140 characters to express the day's lesson.

Well, whatever. I'm not in a position to validate everyone else's epic moments. If Lindy West leaving Twitter is ground shaking news for you, great. I'm glad the earth moved for you.

@9: Oof, get ready for some bullshit, I got the third degree on here a while ago when I dared to admit I had not heard of Lindy West. Apparently her fans thought it was very important that I know she is fat though, for some reason.

@9 & 10

Respectfully, Lindy used to write for the Stranger.

This might be the funniest thing I've ever read and the Titanic re-release review she did at the Stranger is close. http://jezebel.com/i-rewatched-love-actu…

@9,

Lindy used to post on SLOG all the time when she was writing for The Stranger.

She still holds the record for the most commented ever piece:

@8 Here's a thought, put down the meth before you start typing. You offer nothing to the comments section beyond insults. If anyone needs an example of why abortions should be legal you are it; or rather you're what happens when the crack baby survives the coat hangar.

By all means try to argue, but for someone moving from California not having an income tax works out to be a 10% raise, so yea its a factor..

@1 Taxes pay for things we all use, such as safe drinking water, so we're not all mentally deficient or DEAD from drinking lead and mercury; a working sewer system that doesn't dump feces, chemicals, hospital wastes and disease vectors into the lakes, streams, rivers and ocean where the food we eat and the water we drink come from, and where we go swimming in the summer with our friends and family; the roads we use to drive to work; the light we need to DO our work; the education we must have to do our jobs, and THINK and JUDGE whether we're being used and abused by grifters and psychopaths.

You know where else you can go where there's no taxes? Deep in the outback where there's no government and community services. Or Kansas, after these last few years with Brownback. Have a safe trip.

Oops, looks like I'm wrong about Kansas!

There's always the unsettled outer Mongolia, and Mars, but hurry to your tax free heaven, before the "land grants" are all snapped up!

Look at the beautiful atmosphere our taxes help support in this glorious liberal city of Seattle:

@14 You do realize that there is safe drinking water in Washington, and roads. You'll also notice that there is not an INCOME tax. So please don't confused what i said with arguing against taxes. I'm just pointing out that what the guy said is factually correct, people (not just seahawks) do consider the effect of an income tax on their income when considering moving.
18
@17 I think you'd be out protesting that as a war on the homeless, fuck you for saying what i can have in my RV taking up space an resources in a parking lot paid for by the city.

And yet again, another instance where someone is unable to make a reasonable argument and just resorts to insults. its so clear why Trump won if you don't even see that after tax income could be important to people when they're considering to move.
20
@19 "Your lack of logic is further proof for getting rid of formaldahyde from trailers and enforcing incest laws..."
21
@9- she's an angy manatee wrapped in a hotpocket of garbage. That's all you need to know.
22
@9 People rage quitting social media was all the narcissistic rage back in the days of Livejournal. It wasn't until Lindy West that it was ever published in an international newspaper though.

@1 Agreed. The ultra rich footballer and the tech investor are not wrong. They're just selfish assholes. But that doesn't make them wrong.

Please wait...
