I still remember the massive protests when Obama suspended Iraqi refugees for six months back in 2011, signed a visa waiver bill into law in 2015 for the same nations that are suspended now, and when his DHS further restricted travel from these and several other countries for 60 days in 2016.

At least, I think I do.

How about photos of the police attacking the protesters?

@#1: YEP! How quickly we forget. Look into Bill Clinton's stance on immigrants, border walls and deportation, too. I will maintain that the (only) good thing about the Trump presidency is that we're finally pissed off about the shit that has been wrong for quite some time. We need to snap out of the team mentality and recognize injustice for what it is, not who's enforcing it.

@1 Obama didn't run a racist campaign targeting Muslims, and subsequently didn't appoint antisemitic far rigthwingers to his administration. Your inability to see these very important differences in context questions your ability to see beyond partisan politics.

@1

Setting aside @5's point that you seem to have missed about the targeting of Muslims (and also, you did know that Trump said they'll go ahead and admit Christians from these countries, didn't you?), what is your point? That the order is no big deal? That people should not be protesting Trump?

You claim to teach college classes. Unless you're at a whites-only university, you have students and ex-students who are directly affected. Is that okay with you?

Great pics thanks

I thought it was pretty cool when I asked him whether or not he voted for Clinton and he responded with, "Why would I lie?" without actually answering the question.

@7: Oh you know Theodore; no protest will ever meet with his approval. Either the wrong people are protesting, or they aren't protesting in the right way, or their protest won't have any impact, or he imagines their motive aren't pure enough, or in his opinion there's nothing to protest at all. Today his quibble is that since past injustices were not met with what he (or Brietbart, which is where this particular talking point is coming from. Big surprise) suitable uproar then we should all throw our hands in the air and allow injustice pass without protest today.
He's wrong of course, but that has never stood in the way of him enjoying his most favorite pastime which is smelling his own farts on line.

@7: I am talking about the temporary travel ban, not the entirety of Trump's actions. I taught college courses while I was earning my graduate degree years ago, I no longer do that. For the record I think the travel ban is stupid, just pointing out that it is in no way out of the ordinary or out of accepted executive power. America and the left had no problem when Obama did this on three separate occasions.

In regard to your comment @11, I stated that I voted for Clinton earlier in that thread, I assumed you could follow that string of thought when I brought up the pointlessness of lying anonymously, but that was obviously my mistake. Since it is so pressing in your mind, I voted for Clinton. I hope that is stated plainly enough.

@13: I made no judgement on the current protests, so please do not call me to task for your imaginings. Unsure why Breitbart has to do with anything, a fact is a fact. Are you disputing my statement on the basis of anything factual, or just your feelings?

I wish people and the media were into this attack dog mode when Obama was banning refugees, locking up whistleblowers, and droning thousands of civilians. It is good to see the executive branch no longer getting a free pass on everything. If the idea that people should protest republicans and democrats for shitty behavior offends you, that is your problem.

@14: please link to any comment regarding protests in which you indicated your support rather than picking nits. Or feel free to return to recording the fruity top note of your latest emissions in your Fartpholio.

@12 You go girl be proud of your lack of travel.

@15

I don't think I have ever seen him post anything that wasn't dourly shitting on someone. Like Pridge used to say, he must be fun at parties.

@17: I know right? He has such a high opinion of himself. It amazes me that with such a swelled head how far he can get it up his own butt.

Teddy seems to think that all actions are universally bad and should be protested (regardless of intent or motive) and if you don't protest them, then any current protests are meaningless cuz you didn't protest it THEN. Even, no especially if though the scenario may have been different due to context and intent. That's because there's no difference between a Democrat and a Republican as this administration is clearly showing us. If you didn't protest when Obama did it, you can't protest when Trump does it. Or if you do, you should feel horrible you didn't protest when Obama did it. Because intent or motive doesn't matter. And Dems and Republicans are the same.
