It makes sense if you think of it as an extension of public defense attorneys in criminal cases. So, sure, it belongs on the list of services an ideal civil society ought to offer.

However... that list is very long and public resources are limited. Is an undocumented legal defense fund really that high on the list for a city grappling with a housing crisis, a transportation crisis, mental health services crisis, etc?

Exactly!!! The racist, xenophobic Americans had better open their hearts, borders and wallets to these victims!! These people are entitled to live here, plus receive free education, free transportation, free food, free shelter, free clothing, free vacations, free phones, plus a guaranteed minimum income!! The greedy, uncaring, xenophobic, racist Americans had better start respecting and granting the basic human rights that these undocumented Americans are entitled to
