Seattle Releases New Rules for Clearing Homeless Encampments

"but advocates for homeless people point to well-documented shortfalls in the existing shelter system that leads people to prefer to sleep outside. Given that, they argue, the city should allow some outdoor camping." So now it's "outdoor camping" and not homelessness. Problem solved.
Heidi, I don't suppose the city plans mention anything about cleaning up the build-up of trash all over the city? About a week ago I submitted yet another city cleanup form for the abandoned camp just down the street from work (they took their tents and left the most unbelievable mounds of trash, which were then lit on fire for some reason). I was told by a city employee that there is a backlog of some 250 cleanup sites all over Seattle, so am curious what the plan is. I'm not seeing anything from the city or state, just finger-pointing and excuses.
