I have preschoolers that can come up with better lies when they get caught doing something.

Stacking worse crimes on top of previous minor offenses sounds like a fantastic way to try getting out of trouble. Especially when you provide the evidence to the police by literally placing it into their hands.

Wow, all that effort only to end up looking like a couple of complete fools in public. Well done, guys, but just how do you top something this dumb? Never mind, I'd rather not know.

You have to wonder what they thought they were going to do with the video. Perhaps they thought their crimes would be so hilarious that their video "two addicts get tattoos after breaking into a car" would get millions of hits, enabling them to, well, buy millions of hits of heroin.

Yeah, I might watch that, but only if they tattooed their names on themselves to make it easier to report them. That's what would make it really funny.
