Why doesn't Murray say he's never paid for sex. If somebody accused me of anything in which paying for sex is part of the accusation, I wouldn't need any further information about the person or allegation other than the fact that I can confidently, categorically and honestly say that I've never paid for sex. Mayor Murray...have you ever paid for sex?
We'll...thank you Stranger commentors for taking it easy on me. I've been informed that gay men paying for sex in the '80's was perfectly normal and not an issue. Please continue to ignore my previous comment. (Crawling back under rock)
Yes, #7, I also find it strange and a bit alarming that a current Seattle Mayor who was previously a Senator would make a statement that he has no money and no assets. Why would their house only be in his husband's name?
If he is trying to come across as humble and non-materialistic and non-investing I am a bit worried that his position is handling millions of dollars in city investment projects and he has only invested in his reputation.
A state legislator only made $40k/year in the 1990s/2000s so it is quite possible that husband Michael bought the house based on his (higher).income as a city employee, and brought the asset into the marriage. I imagine that's why it's in his name, if true. People seem to think state legislators are rich and some are, but not from their state paycheck. A Seattle Mayor makes almost $200k/yr so Ed got a big raise but only for the past 3 years.
