She will put her own business interests first in all her policy positions.
2
"'I'm just going to have to take a pass on that one,' she said."

I feel exactly the same way about her campaign.

Maybe if she talked to 400 people to get their signatures, she might learn what people in this city are concerned about and develop some actual policy positions. Her responses suggest she hasn't been following these issues Heidi brought up at all, issues that are deeply important to me and many others. That's why signature gathering from small donors is such a great way to start a campaign.

Quick, she doesn't agree with the Stranger's list of goofy ideas to break Seattle. Run a hit piece!
6
Come on, say something... say ANYTHING AT ALL!!!

@4 So now "reasonable" means not being able to commit to anything? You should probably develop a concrete platform *before you announce your candidacy.*

Nice to see an adult running for city office.

With genitalia getting all the press lately, we're politely reminding you how ludicrously BEADY we are.

OMG! Fremont Brewing Company not only makes the best beer ever but I love them as a company. I started going their to fill up my growlers when they barely had a place to sit. Matt & Sara were there getting that thing off the ground with their little babies in tow and they are such genuine and cool people. As far as I am concerned, what they do as a company pretty much proves they are as progressive as anyone can be. https://www.fremontbrewing.com/sustainab…

On one of her opponent Grant's primary issues—whether the city should be requiring developers to build more affordable housing—Nelson is skeptical. "I admire someone who has that kind of certainty," she says of Grant. "I don’t know what his background is in building buildings. I don’t have any background in that. I’m not an expert, so I don't feel like I’m in any position to come out and say [the developer requirements] should be more."

Yeah, this is what need in no way whatsoever at all. No housing affordability crisis here, move along, move along.

Small businesses are the heart of what make Seattle an amazing place to live. Zero of the current council members are small business owners. A progressive small business owner with policy experience sounds like a good voice on the council. The Stranger needs to chill and give her more than a day to make her case.
15
Sounds like a solid candidate who cares about the future of Seattle. Maybe she didn't hit all the buzz-words, but she sounds like a passionate smarty-pants who has pretty strong credentials--I mean, it's not every day we have someone run for Council who has actually worked at the Council for years AND started a kick-ass successful (and apparently progressive) business. This race just got more interesting!
16
A Council candidate who has actually started a business and found great success is a missing element on the Seattle City Council. Nelson could catch on with fans of experience and competence, two concepts with which Jon Grant is not associated.

So she's not a SJW or flat out Socialist. No wonder the Stranger's gotten all pissy with her.

Please wait...
