Yeah, good luck on getting anyone with a molecule of professional integrity to serve in President Turkey Neck's FUBAR regime. No one with two brain cells to rub together is gonna chow down on that steaming shit sandwich.
So, who’s dedicated their entire life to destroying the FBI? Alex Jones for director?
From a GOP standpoint, this move makes sense. He's had nothing but bad press lately, and he's in a vulnerable district. The republicans probably think they have a better shot at holding the seat if they run someone who isn't as tainted.
@9 Reichert voted for TrumpCare to get out of committee (when they needed his vote) before he voted against it on final passage (when they didn't need his vote).
@10. That's correct. The bill that left committee was not the same one voted on in the end. That's why, according to Reichert (take it as you will), he voted no - the revised bill was different and contained changes he claims made him go from "undecided" to "no". It is very common for bills to be altered after they leave committee and for those alterations to ffect the way members ultimately vote on the revised bill. It is true that the Republicans didn't need Reichert's vote, but he *did* vote "no", whatever the reasons.
I imagine his role in the Green River Killer's capture would come under renewed scrutiny. Imagine if victims' survivors came out to oppose his appointment.
@14 - and Reichert has voted yes a zillion times on ACA repeal bills before. If they needed a yes vote on the AHCA, he would've given it to them. It's why he won't do town halls. The GOP knows he's not smart enough to talk his way out of the trap he's laid for himself.
I'd like to see the entire Trumpzillian Evil Empire thrown under the bus, or--wait! How about a Ducks cruiser? Those are "safe", right? May the fuckers all shoot themselves, fall, and soon, and their idiot supporters and apologists be the ones left to pick up the pieces and pay the damages when GOP dies.
Reichert, I think, admitted once that the Republicans allow him to vote "against" Republican issues when he needs to in order to keep his seat. He is both dumb and corrupt.
Reichert voted to speed AHCA through the process by the martial law procedure at least twice, and voted for the amendments that got the last few votes in voters to pass it.
He later complained about how it was rushed... After he helped rush it.
Reichert voted yes on AHCA whenever the party needed his vote, and only voted no when they needed him to try to keep his seat so he could do this again in the future.
@ 19, You're correct. One of Sheriff Hairspray's most notorious quotes involved admitting that he openly engages in vote-swapping to deliver GOPnazi victories while falsely telling the public that he's against the party's cruelty and destructive bullshit on principle.
He's a total phony and a fraud--a perfect fit for the RepubliKKKans.

I'm thinking either you don't know Christie(as most of you haven't lived in NJ under him) or I don't know Reichert(which is possible).
Christie would be bad. Very bad.
