I agree. I also read something interesting in a comment made by a Seattle Times reader (imagine that!). He said that Kaepernick is more mobile than Wilson. I found that surprising -- I've always thought that one of Wilson's great strengths is to improvise when the play has broken down, or throw the ball away when the protection has failed him. But the writer was basically saying that Kaepernick has plays designed to get him out of the pocket immediately. And while the Seahawks aren't afraid of a naked bootleg or two, they prefer Wilson stay in the pocket. This means that Kaepernick would actually not be the ideal fit. I find that a stretch (I think he could adapt quite easily) but I would like your opinion on the matter.
@3 that works if your starter QB is (as turned out to be the case) a bonafide hall of famer and one of the top QBs of all time. Montana never slipped (until he did, and the niners didn't resign him) so it wasn't an issue. It only works in hindsight. What if Montana had had a bad 6-game stretch in 1988? We'll never know.
