The Portland protesters looked like a bunch of thugs: they were arrested and their protest busted up, while the white supremacists marched peacefully. The optics of showing up for a fight picked by assholes is terrible. Show your solidarity some other way: perhaps a mass volunteer project, social media campaign or other peaceful, productive demonstration on another side of town.

Somehow, we're still having conversations about this stuff without mentioning that these are white nationalists. Why worry about sharia if it is not happening here in the USA? I am personally NOT worried about sharia happening here until we get to a certain demographic tipping point.

I am worried about the misinformation and manipulation of the US public regarding the true nature of sharia.
