By all means continue with the regressive taxes. I personally like all the barriers king county is creating to keep the poor and brown out.

What's the option? The GOPers in Olympia are adamantly opposed to Seattle creating an income tax, the business community gets their collective underoos in a bunch as well, so until something changes this is the system we have to deal with. If you can suggest a viable alternative, I'm sure we'd all LOVE to benefit from your wisdom & insight.

Bill Nye is not really a scientist, and he doesn't do any science. He is an actor with a degree in engineering.

Nothing wrong with that, but people need to stop pretending anything he says about science matters, or is even accurate.

I AGREE WITH HIS POLITICAL TALKING POINTS SO HE IS LITERALLY EINSTEIN

@3:

Engineering is the practical application of scientific principals with the intent of solving problems in the real world. While you are correct in that engineering is not considered a branch of science per se, we can at the same time easily see that the two disciplines are strongly inter-related. Science asks "why?"; engineering asks "how?". Science without engineering is just philosophy; engineering without science is just uncoordinated rock-banging.

Not just a mechanical engineering degree but also ten years of actual engineering work at Boeing. He invented some kind of thingy that is in the 747. Seems sufficient to be able to understand what he is talking about science-wise.

@5, 6: I typically do not respond to comments that are excessively pointless or stupid, but damn, you are unhinged. Seek help.

@6:

I believe @9's comment proves your point.

@9 the effective response was to walk away and not attempt to one-up. ;)

Please wait...
