Pizza Fest founder Pete Capponi and his raucous punk group Stallion wanted to kick up that bacchanal's wild-abandon factor a notch, so they conceived the Backyard Bunkhouse BBQ Brawl and Rock n Wrestling Rager. Destined to be the most id-liberating local event happening all summer, the Rager goes down this Saturday, July 15 (3-9:30 pm) at Georgetown's Sisters and Brothers bar. Capponi—who also drums in Steal Shit Do Drugs and other groups—says it's the first of a series of shows that will happen at least once a year, if not more.

At the inaugural Rager, Stallion and fellow noise punks Pink Parts will compete for the title belt of World Rock n Roll Champions, as awarded by the "sanctioning body" NorthWest Alliance. In addition, local pro wrestlers, including Kevin Sullivan, will tussle in a ring with a 12-foot-high steel cage around the stage. The announcer's table will sit in what Capponi describes as "a 34-foot-wide tractable boom lift usually reserved for construction sites." Most importantly, there will be a belching contest. Capponi warns, "This promises to be the wildest, rockin'est, rowdiest event Seattle has ever seen."
