Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while.

I like Mike. He's not going to win.

Mike is incompetent. While he was mayor we had a homeless crisis that kept getting worse, we had a transportation crisis that kept getting worse. And all we got to show for his four years are a handful of bike lanes that aren't significant enough to solve any of the problems with biking in Seattle.

@3: It sure didn't help that our city council refused to work with him. Fortunately most of those councilmembers are gone or going. Also, 2009 was not a great time economically to begin a term in office.

@4 -- It was worse than that. A lot of people who worked in the mayor's office complained about his incompetence. He had no idea how to do is job, nor did he get people who could help him. Politics is weird that way. Even the most ardent football fan would have no idea how to be head coach of a college football team, yet someone like McGinn thinks he is qualified to be the mayor of a large city. You might be able to pull it off if you hire a bunch of very experienced assistants, but he didn't. He hired his campaign manager and a lot of his buddies from the bike club.

I like Mike, but you should stick it to the Sierra Club by voting for someone else for City Council Position 9.

"That includes writing a new Transit Master Plan and beginning the development of new city-built rail lines, using a race and social justice lens to prioritize city spending including on environmental and climate programs, promoting sustainable building development and measures to reduce energy usage in existing buildings, and launching the city’s Climate Action Plan,"

Oh Lord. I like Mike McGinn. I really do. He started out really flakey and hostile, but grew into being a good mayor. Then I read that paragraph, and all I see is a bunch of time and money wasted reworking stuff that has already been worked to death since at least the Nickel's administration.

We have a city to run. We're not setting up the rules for our freshman dorm floor. You missed the boat, Mike.
