Fifty-five pups are currently en route via airplane from San Antonio, Texas, to Seattle in order to make space in Texas shelters for hurricane rescues. If you've been thinking about adopting a dog, now might be a good time to do it.

The Humane Society is looking to move a thousand of these animals from Texas to a network of emergency shelters across the country in the coming weeks. This way, displaced pups hoping to be found can stay close to their human parents in Corpus Christi and Houston.
