Is Microsoft going to spend money to run attack ads against members of Congress that are blocking DACA from becoming law, or is this just for show?

Tarnation. Now I have to like Microsoft? yea for them for not being evil!

@2 - Dreamers ARE in the country legally. for the moment. DACA made them legal

3-year olds are easily hoodwinked.

@4. That doesn't make any sense. The government's choice to defer deportation means that they are legally allowed to stay until the government stops deferring. You're confusing disapproving of what the government did with what words mean.

@6. You're confusing the last administration's declaration to not enforce deportation of dreamers and an impromptu creation of a useless paper trail documenting them with a law being passed by the legislative branch of government and actually being enforceable. If Daca was law, then trump couldn't just rescind it at will.

Back in the 2000's Bill Gates and Msoft got into trouble with the amount of H1B visas they were handing out to foreign workers. People who were locals were furious. Tons of migrants were coming into the area to take advantage of everything that was battled for for decades - including property taxes etc.... It is well known that Gates loved migrant workers because they came from nothing and wanted to work harder and more than the average American. Is this wrong in most eyes? Probably not... But if you look at what has happened to the area and with Bezos etc etc... Tons of people coming from all over the world etc etc... It's put a damper on local citizens rights and more often than naught driven them out of the area... Gates didn't care about locals and it was obvious... This support from Msoft and all the other tech companies stems from that same mentality. Msoft's argument has always been "we need very qualified workers who are super intelligent and will work for the company." I don't know if I agree with any of these arguments.... If they are illegal and have no rights... They don't deserve to be here - company supported or not. I don't think rights for any person should be driven by working for a company or supported by a company... It literally creates a company area - much like Amazon and what has become of Seattle.

@8 Completely ridiculous. My family has been living and working in King County for generations, before the lake even had bridges, and none of our "local citizens rights" have ever been "dampened" by foreign workers.

Yeah, but what about all those contractor minions? Screw them. Let's see, it's only going to fight for 39 direct employees. What percentage is that of Microsoft's workforce? Oh, never mind. This is just so much empty marketing and PR. In fact, I bet this policy was dreamed up by Microsoft's marketing firm.

Please wait...
