It's kind of amusing that these "alt-right" types affiliate themselves with both Nazis (summarily defeated by the rest of the world), and the Confederacy (summarily defeated by the North)... two totally lost causes. Both predicated on the subjugation of other people.

What really confuses me is that these people, who have good reasons to be frustrated with the political situation in this country, don't seem to realize that their --and our-- common enemy is corporations and the influence of corporate power in politics. Ironically, Trumpf is the clearest example of this, being a corporation unto himself, and appointing corporate types to play 'cabinet members' (Eg. Tillerson, DeVos, etc.) who are only handing even more power to corporations. Why don't they see this? Too hard to fight big, amorphous corporations, and more fun to try to beat up other humans?

They have fallen into the classic "divide & conquer" trap. We citizens are being divided against each other, and the corporations are conquering.

That's what galls me the most.

The confederate flag really is an appropriate symbol of poor whites being duped into fighting against their own economic interests both 155 years ago and today. But within these groups it's twisted to represent a nationalist historical grievance/inferiority complex which is fundamental to a fascist mythology.

I just joined after reading a few good pieces, then realized this place generally falls into the left vs right cringe.

It's great to see the US media finally reporting on the things that attack and impact us every day: The stress and poverty caused by political lobbyists, corporate donors, gov contractors, central banks and Wall Street are finally getting nailed by the press!

They mistakenly call it a capitalist network but it really is a CORPORATIST network. They donate to both sides. Hillary and Bill were paid $200,000,000.00 for 20 min speeches over the years.
