In those 15 minutes the ruptured pipeline spewed out 5000 BRLS (a little over 200,000 gallons)
2
If I'm not mistaken, there is a similar pipeline leak basically every day in this country. pipelines are not safe.

"In news that should shock approximately no one, the embattled Keystone Pipeline leaked 210,000 gallons of oil Thursday in Marshall County, South Dakota. TransCanada, the pipeline's operator, said the section of pipeline was shut down within 15 minutes of discovering the spill."

How many days did it take to 'discover the spill'? A quarter Billion gallons' worth....

'Sure, we're gonna Clean It Up.

Don't we always?!'

This Biosphere belongs to ALL of US.
Who decided they get to use it as a toxic waste dump?
Is it too late to change our minds?

Couldnt have happened to a nicer place.

$25,000 worth of oil. My god what will the do. American energy supply, cratered, no disaster so big.
7
@6. That spliff you blazed messed up your understanding of the numbers “million” and “billion”.
8
@7

That junk you shot messed up your understanding of the numbers 4 and 6.
9
@8. That pee pee someone showed you at work reagitated your daddy issues.
10
@muffy

You read that wrong too...
What a surprise.
11
@10. No, Im pretty sure I get it. When they asked “Who’s a victim?”, you, not wanting to be left out and having no other redeeming qualities, meekly raised your hand.

Good job.

Hey kids, recess is over. You're going to have to wait to have your fight after the final bell rings this afternoon.
13
I don't want more pipelines or more oil but if I'm not mistaken the Keystone XL was meant to replace this pipeline because this one was old and decrepit. Presumably, this would be an argument for the new pipeline. Of course, it should be an argument against fossil fuels but it's likely to be used as an argument for the new pipeline.
14
But don't worry - it won't contaminate any groundwater - go ahead drink up!
15
Canada is still making money off the deal even if there's a leak - and we have to pay for the cleanup.
16
Dumping crude tar sands in Dakota is probably safer than burning it, so I'm fine with this.

/except for residents of Dakota of course, but who cares about them

@muffy

I see, being sexually harassed by my boss when I was 17 is something you think I should be quite about.

Did you decide teenagers shouldn't speak out about being sexually harassed when you were a homeless Junkie, or when you became a self-righteous jerk in recovery?
18
@7 I was missing a 0. 5,000 barrels. $250,000 worth of oil.
19
@18
Actually, muff was talking about comment 4.

Muff was too high on rage to notice.
.
Either that, or years of being a homeless drug addict has caused ol' muff permanent damage.

And that's an aerial photo, too. So it's not a small spill over a tiny area.

Please wait...
