Wow, this takes me back, way back. I remember listening to Birds of Fire for the very first time, it completely blew me away. John McLaughlin was the fastest guitarist I have ever heard to this day, a true virtuoso. Same's true of Billy Cobham, the fastest drummer by far in the history of ever. Jan Hammer awesome on keyboards, Jerry Goodman killing it on violin, those were the days.

Mahavishnu changed my life for the better.

wow! What a wonderful statement! Based on 17 years of concert attendance....it must have been magical! I wish i was there to see it. You were a lucky SOB for sure. Congrats. Everyone has that similar epiphany in their life. Usually in their 20's. Kudo's to you for experiencing your epiphany! Mine happened in May 1973 at the Seattle center coliseum...Billy Preston, Stevie Wonder, and the Rolling Stones. Remember your concert event forever! I do.

The usual four nostalgic suspects are at it again...
The 1985 (or was it late 1984?) Tel-Aviv performance was amazing!
