That single, bulleted sentence is killing me.

This is barely news. $750 fine and they had to go and pick up the garbage.

Ehhh. Does anyone read the Seattle Times any more?

Come to think it, I'd like to know the average distribution numbers of The Stranger (bi-weekly) versus the Seattle Fishwrap (daily).*

@4: Stranger circulation was c. 20% of Times in 2016. Before it went to bi-weekly. That means The Stranger has about 50,000 out once every 14 days, and the Times circulates about a quarter million every day (and over a third of a million on Sundays). You can call it fish wrap all you want, and indeed it has the same ills as all but the largest city dailies, but lots more people read it.

If you can't smell the sinking of this weak-ly, your sense of smell is weak.

@2: Uh-huh...isn't a fine of $750 to SPU just a wrist slap? I think I hear laughter.
A fine of $750 thousand paid back to the city might sink in a little deeper.
@3: I do, actually. Heaven bless the funnies, puzzles, horoscopes, and occasional Opinion page editorials!

I love how our city council members - Lorena Gonzalez in particular - can violate all kinds of rules but still receive Democracy Vouchers. Sound Transit 3 campaign can spout lies like "they were on-time and underbudget" after overspending by millions of dollars and being over 10 years late in completion. But the police union puts out one flyer where they forgot one sentence of wording and there is a lawsuit and fine against them. Sounds like justice is in the eyes of the beholder in Seattle.

Please wait...
