Mayor who refused to believe sexual assault victims so long as it politically benefited her now wants to tackle sexual harassment in the New Year.

@1

Good point. So she should do nothing and let things continue as they've been going, right?.

I hope that men will be included in this new policy. Men are also victims of harassment; it usually comes from other men and is not generally sexual in nature, at least not in the physical sense. For it to work in the long run it must be inclusive for both women and men.

@3: NO. ONLY WOMEN.

good god, do you really think any new policy would be limited to one gender in this city?

@2 I said nothing of the sort and am sure that they will find plenty of solid people to get this done. However, she should be held accountable for the damage she did to survivors. Many people seem a little too comfortable to handwave that away, as if she does not have a history of discrediting and disrespecting survivors when she stands to gain politically from it.

@5 what would you like? A public pillory? One of her hands cut off? One of her eyes taken out? Because I have feeling from your ridiculous trolling comment history nothing would be good enough.

And maybe you need to prove your case before we actually get down to punishing the woman who just got into the job and is doing something right for the victims you pretend to care about right now.

@1, you have a solid point. And--good on her, I say. Didn't get my vote, but her actions on this issue and her choice of Deputy Mayor meet with my approval.

Please wait...
