Is there any chance Inslee would consider a veto? Dems are over-reacting (a few loud voices have convinced them that all people talk about at the water cooler is car tabs, when really no one is talking about it and no dem is going to lose a race because of it).

I have to agree with #1 here. The only people I have heard complaining about this are the same Eastern Washington Republicans who oppose all public transit.

We reported on Friday that Democrats were looking for ways to make up for what they'd lose in car-tab funding, as explained by Rep. Joe Fitzgibbon when we asked him and fellow 34th District Rep. Eileen Cody about it. http://westseattleblog.com/2018/01/after…

Not a dollar more for transit until the wifi service on my route is 100% reliable.

Frankly, I'm surprised Democrats are talking about slashing Sound Transit funding at all. Usually that's an obstructionist RepubliKKKan move.

I *hate* that Ds are falling for this Eyman-esque talking point. The assessment rate was known in the bill that was passed. It doesn't really matter how it relates to the 'value' of the car.

Really happy Democrats blinked here and recognized there are VERY FEW transit Republicans left. Most of whom want to prioritize paratransit, and consider fixed route buses a luxury item.

None of whom support sexy light rail or want Sound Transit swag or want ORCA Next Generation to happen.
