So women are going to build solar fields and wind and wave turbines to power the clean energy they are insisting on?

Awesome.
2
@1: No, Union workers, of all genders, will build the infrastructure , and be paid a living wage to do so.
3
One must also remember that in 20 years times time the human population will be considerably higher. If you wish to eliminate the 37% of energy generated from fossil fuels plus the extra to accommodate a larger population that might require hydroelectric power which would mean more dams and reservoirs. This will further endanger salmon, encourage salt build up in the water, and a whole lot of other related problems. Along with conservation we should all work for population stability.

Could you provide a link to where a comment can be submitted on the proposed plan?

I'm all for getting as much energy as possible from renewable resources, it goes without saying, but I also hear a lot about the inner workings from PSE from my boyfriend, who works as an engineer for them. PSE has some of the largest wind farms in the nation and is constantly investing in green energy and conservation initiatives. As mentioned above, hydro isn't really a sustainable solution since it's so destructive to the environment around it. Closing down plants 3 & 4 is an admirable goal, but it's going to cause a rate increase, and it's ultimately up to the UTC and PSE's customers whether they are willing to put their money where their mouth is.

This is. great idea, but what specifically will replace the coal?

Obviously increasing hydro is unrealistic. Ditto nuclear. Ditto geothermal and tidal.
Wind and solar are wonderful but then there is the intermittency problem.
So why the entrenched opposition to using natural gas to transition off of coal?
Coal is the absolute worst, full stop.
The priority should be to get those coal plants shut down, asap.

500 women scientists all did they exclaim-
"The world is ending - we must change our game".
The men of the group which none were allowed-
Because men are usually wrong
Cowed by the gender-based crowd.
No more coal - its bad for the environment they all did say-
With offices and homes full of foreign-made swag - environmental child's play (none admitted to say)
Do as we say, not as we do.
You need no remedy details
To try to cut-through.
We gave you the answer, now just fix the problem.
We're women scientists and we know we're so awesome.

Did you know solar power employs more US workers than all other energy sources? And wind power is close behind?

Be proUS Jobs and buy Renewables!

Please wait...
