Lake View Cemetery is a nice hill that's known for holding Bruce and Brandon Lee's rotting bones. People from all over the world visit these bones so they can gawk and leave knick-knacks for the ghosts and/or squirrels to enjoy. (When I visited last Sunday, someone left their health insurance card on daddy Lee's grave. Why?) But just behind all this hubbub is a grave that, in my expert opinion, is far more substantial. It belongs to Vikki Yin Lai Miu.

I have no idea who Vikki is or was or continues to be, but I do know that her grave is fantastic. Look at it! Sad baby angels wait for flowers from the living while tourists in ugly sweatshirts walk past them to take Instagrams of Bruce and Brandon Lee's big stones. Sure, Bruce is a pop culture icon, but what about Vikki's oversized forgotten heart? While a grave is about a person, not a holiday, this overlooked grave seems to me to be a perfect monument to Valentine's Day and unrequited love. Me, my boyfriend, and a couple drag queens are going to bring her flowers tomorrow for Valentine's Day because the holiday sucks and this seems like a sweeter alternative. If you'd like to bring flowers, too, we can start a cult.
