So the Brits are threatening to go nuclear and withhold the Royals from attending the World Cup in Russia this summer. Interesting.
I suspect one big reason Trump withheld US support for Britain in its condemnation of Russia in this diplomatic brouhaha is his pique at him and his family being refused an invitation to the upcoming royal nuptials.
Isn't oligarchy fun?

Some very active imaginations this morning.

Anyway, you can't really give Hawking credit for the Big Bang Theory or the idea that it started with a singularity. He may have popularized the idea for many, but that work was done long before he ever picked up a book, or sucked air.

You may be thinking specifically of the Penrose-Hawking singularity theorem.

Oh good grief. We just had another G1 class event at the end of February. And another in the middle of February. Chill.

Stephen Hawking was so inspirational on so many levels. He really tested the boundries of human comprehension of physics in addition to overcoming extreme personal challenges. He’ll be remembered as one of the greatest scientists of our time.

Stephen Hawking was born on January 8th. Newton, once you convert from Julian to Gregorian (by the Julian calendar in use at the time, he was born on Christmas) was born on January 4th.

It's a common misconception. One I held until today. Hawking was born, however, on the 300th anniversary of the death of Galileo.

In addition to what #3 said, some of Hawking's later work on whether black holes are "hairy" is fascinating stuff: https://www.livescience.com/53363-stephe…

@7 - Indeed, among more pleasant populations in the country that wouldn't happen, you'd have men running outside eager to help. Unfortunately, the same boorish and crass behavior would probably occur in Seattle.

Please wait...
