I and many others have witnessed women hating for generations and all the nasty bigotry that goes with it. We are not going backwards. We will continue to fight against neo fascism in all its forms. Fascism will become obsolete and it is vastly outnumbered now. Speak up and take a stand because now is the time.

Thank you Heidi for your wonderful and brave writings.

According to Wikipedia, the FACE Act's provisions are pretty clearly intended to counter physical threats to clinics.

I'm not sure that I approve of this continuing convergence between the physical and the online world.

Seems to me that the CFAA violations are much more clear-cut. Prosecute under those.

Incidentally, it seems to me that "The group's supporters received racist and anti-choice emails," is a bit of a misleading statement, given the quotes you provided. Obviously this guy was anti-abortion. But it's clear from the "adolph hitler" email quoted that his point was that the way abortion services are marketed is racist, i.e. women of color are targeted in an attempt to keep the population of racial minorities lower. It's all of a piece with their reference to things like Margaret Sanger's association with negative eugenics.

That's an argument that abortion opponents frequently make; you can disagree with its merits, but to call it "racist" when it is actually making arguing from an anti-racist position is highly misleading.

The point is that women should be in control of the decision to have or not have a child. Not the government and not any authority. And it is no one else’s business.

Those that want to control women think and act otherwise, The more vulnerable the women then these power freaks want more control. Keeping women down is the game. Especially disenfranchised women (class and/or race) who have little choice now.

Great reporting Heidi!
@2) Good point. I think a lawyer would argue that the physical part refers to the actual physical ability of a person to be allowed to enter the building. The statute does not state how a person must be blocked from entry to qualify. It might not be a physical barrier that prevents them from physically entering the building.

Even still, that would not be the only hurdle.

Thank you, Heidi Groover, for excellent and courageous reporting, and @1 Ivy R. Nightscales. Well written and said, and I agree. It's high time to repeal the 2nd Amendment as well.
For far too long these same centuries-backward women haters, dead set against abortion and any form of birth control, ecstatically wait for a mother to die in labor in the ER ("religious views", my ass!), and murder any doctor who tries to his or her job in a Planned Parenthood clinic. They have it all mapped out all so that children born without their mothers get killed in action clutching M16s in combat by age 18 'cause they's s'posed to protect the U.S.A, 'cause "freedom ain't free". It's all part of their evil, shamefully corrupt plot.

When it doubt, cut it out.

Bowling is overrated anyway.
12
@11: No, when in doubt consider adoption first. Then, if that's not viable - cut it out.
13
@12

And do you want the law to require that?
14
@13: No
15
@11: Yeah, I’m sure having a rape victim “consider adoption first” for the physical evidence of her brutal violation is no great emotional burden upon her.

Luckily for you, anti-choice ideology forbids adherents from thinking of women as human beings, so you don’t have to worry about the anguish caused to women by your simpering platitudes.

I hope these cyber-terrorists get punished to the fullest extent of the law.
16
Tensor, I am not advocating rape victims consider adoption. In fact if you re-read @12, I pick up on Catalina's phrase with "When in doubt.." - and there is no doubt in rape cases (even though a few continue with the pregnancy, but that's their prerogative as well). So don't take the rape scenario and apply it to the whole as I really don't think you object to adoption per se, as you, like most of us, know someone, or is someone, who has been adopted and hopefully into a loving family.

Pro-Lifers are such hypocrites and assholes. Polls have shown them to hold much more racist, sexist, etc. views than the general population. They say they love fetuses as if they were children but they refuse to expand safety nets, welfare projects, education, healthcare and more. As soon the baby is born, they care less.
18
Correction: last part of sentence should read “they can care less”. My phone doesn’t like typing stuff.
20
Heidi, FYI that the link to your 2016 article is broken.
21
@16: There’s nothing in either Mrs. Vel-DuRay’s comment which excludes any category of woman who might want an abortion.
22
@21: Correct.

Please wait...
