Can Slog track the Laura Ingraham vacation, please? I want to see pictures of her and her family on her planned trip.
2
It's not "the" Seattle Center, nor is it "the" Snoqualmie Pass. And prospectively, it isn't "the" Puget Sound either.
3
But is it "the" Pike's Place?
4
(Answ.: No.)
5
that Sinclair shit works. who watches KOMO? old people, right before Wheel of Fortune is on. old people vote in every election, and they're chock full of resentments and prone to confirmation bias.
6
Rising home prices and rising home values should not cause property taxes to rise;
the millage rate should be adjusted (downward) as the tax digest rises to keep collections at the same level.
7
Pretty surreal seeing Slog whine about biased reporting....

@5

Old people: stupid and pliable, just like babies. So stupid!

And The Stranger is basically a biweekly magazine for and by old people now, so...
9
Just remember @5 and @8, If you are not already you will get old too. Age discriminates against nobody; unless you die young you wil get old.
10
@7 The Stranger has never claimed to not have a point of view. Others, of course ...

Fortunately, KOMO sucks worse than the rest of the local news (that's saying something). So not hard to ignore. Time to start torrenting Kimmel.
11
@5 "chock full of resentments and prone to confirmation bias." You mean the New Liberals?
12
@5: Ain't the same since Kathi Goertzen and Dan Lewis anchored.
13
@8, 9: if you think you're telling me something I don't know, you're wrong. I spend quite a bit of time at an assisted living facility nowadays, and I see it with my own eyes. every apartment I walk past at 7 is tuned to Wheel.

@11: whatever the fuck you're on about "New Liberals", I'm sure I don't know. why don't you explain? I'm sure it will be quite edifying.

Wouldn't think the Chinese tariffs on apples would make much impact, but cherries could be another story. Some Wa St orchardists could be singing the blues in a few months. Hay, wheat and softwood won't be far behind. It would be great to see a blue shift in E Washington. Could happen.
17
@9 @13

I think maybe you're ranting about whatever is making your feet hurt, and kind of missing my point completely.

But then I suppose it's only fitting that the comments section of a biweekly magazine for old people should be full of old people grumbling about things they've completely misinterpreted.

Because they're stupid, you see, the olds can't really think like people anymore, which is why they vote for whoever the television tells them to vote for.

Nathalie, Kim Jong Un went to boarding school in Europe for several years, so if he's a fan of K-pop, it happened before S. Korea blasted music over the border - since I doubt he happened to be in that vicinity then to hear it!

WA's and CA's agriculture will definitely be affected by this trade retaliation from China, they're slapping taxes on wine and several fruits and nuts that we grow, among other products. Yep, farmers will def be sick of winning soon. Or just sick, bankrupt, and homeless. And Herr Gropenführer will tweet that their suffering is fake news!
19
@17 So just how old are you Robotslave? If you are young do you plan to check out at an early age so that you don't get old?
20
Pretty impressive how well the NYT was able to convey the truth of "Trump is an incompetent simpleton who doesn't understand the things he rants about, or lies about it," while still presenting the facts objectively.
21
@17: robotslave, I'm old, but I'm not fucking 90. are you 90? have you spent the last year talking a 90 year old off the KIRO-FM-dori-monson-seattle-is-horrible-now ledge?

old people aren't stupid, but they are gullible. that's why scammers target them, and that's the entire fucking point of RW media: to gull the gullible. ask my 82 year old dad who is convinced Obama is Muslim.
22
Old folks may be off their game a few steps but at least they drag their asses to the polls and vote which is something the idealistic enlightened know-it-all younger demographic doesn't bother to do.
Youngsters are just as credulous consumers of whatever shit FaceBook is spewing at the moment as you claim old timers are relative to Sinclair.
23
Maybe if viewers started boycotting Sinclair stations they would get the message that THEY are the real broadcasters of "fake news". Take a cue from the Parkland students vis-a-vis Fox "News". Boycotts work!
24
When KOMO was acquired by Sinclair, our household stopped watching and listening to KOMO News. Sorry to penalize locals for who they work for, but as viewers and listeners we drew the line. The only way to make this stop is to boycott Sinclair's stations.
25
PS: We're hardly youngsters in this house, but no thanks to Sinclair, Fox and the social media propaganda machines.

It has nothing to do with age and everything to do with being too trusting and gullible as well as being too lazy to question what's being said or to think for oneself. These aren't age-specific issues. One can be a sheeple at any age.
26
#17: Good luck. The ageism thing is a major blind spot of the left.
27
@14, that was the New Radicals.

Please wait...
