You’re really going to start posting lightweight snark like this under the byline “The Stranger?”

Robbie Turner clearly has some mental health challenges right now. This seems mean-spirited and insensitive. I can see why no Stranger staffer would want their own name associated with it.

Please, just take it down.

@1: And yet, it’s rather hard to tell where mental heath challenges end and garden-variety Narcissism/committed attention-seeking behavior begins.
3
@1 it's pre-emptive defense ("it's just a little lie, nbd people lie about things all the time WHY ARE YOU MORE FOCUSED ON TURNERS LIES???"). Turner clearly has some friends at Seattle's Only Newspaper.
4
@1 Are you new here? This is classic Stranger.
5
@4: Yes, classic in the sense that The Stranger continually shoots itself in the foot in its quest to become a reliable and respected 'newspaper' - @1 is correct.
6
@5: At one time The Stranger was one of first sites I would go to in the morning, and throughout the day, and now I seldom come here more than a couple of times a week. There's simply much better content out there now, while at the same time The Stranger has gotten thinner, more predictable, sloppy, and is no longer a must read. Bad management, I suppose. And jesus, the look is as gaudy as the makeup on Ms Turners face - ads mixed with content, ugly look, crap everywhere on the screen. The comment section is like something out of a neighborhood blog and allows no real opportunity to interact with other readers. I suppose they're just too cheap to pay for a decent comment section. In any case, The Stranger seems to be in a death spiral that I'm not sure it will ever pull out of. It's a shame.
7
@6) Agreed. They've been in this death spiral since 1996 with no end in sight!
8
@6 agreed. I too, used to visit SLOG on a regular basis, even more so than my BM, but lately it is only good for the clean up of the latter.

@4 A "classic Stranger" piece of this type would have had a byline by an entirely fictional character like "A. Birch Steen", "Francine Colman-Gutierrez" or "Rob McKenna."

Please wait...
