Following Trumpf's mucky footsteps, I see. Yes, let's bring back the good ol' days of government-mob cooperation, which are already in progress!

2

Hey Rich, using the same dino picture as the one you had yesterday may cause some confusion.

3

Releasing tax returns should be mandatory for all politicians, including the president. Period, end of story.

4

Lying with his eyes while his hands are busy working overtime

5

@3: No, that would be a slippery slope. We can determine the viability of candidates without them having to disclose their tax returns.

Someday there will be a lefty lib running for office refusing to release his or her returns. Then what will you say?

6

@5:

When that day actually arrives, THEN we can discuss it. But until then, stick your hypothetical future "what if" scenario where the sun don't shine and STFU already.

7

@5: Hypothetical scenarios, which I by no means am the only one to use around here, is one of the tools we all use in our quest for ascertaining common values.

8

@7:

There you go, talking to yourself again...

9

@8: In the sprit of a sunny day - I'll let you hang your hat on that.

10

oh rainy, you're soooo classy.

11

So maybe Dan Savage and Tim Keck release their income tax papers? Granted they are not running for public office but they do influence the government and have the means to do so. You might say they don't have to well neither does Dino Rossi. If the Stranger thinks it's so ethical they should practice what they preach.

12

I was going to comment on what a typically corrupt prick Dino Rossi is, but @1, @2, @3, @4, @6& @8, and @10 have already covered it beautifully. Thank you treacle, CMD, RickFromTexas, spunkbutter, and COMTE.

13

@5 slippery slope to what? I honestly cannot even guess what a Fox talking head would claim it's a slippery slope to.

14

@11 “practice what they preach...”

And what they’re preaching is that people seeking public office have transparency. They aren’t preaching that private citizens like editors or newspaper owners publish their finances. You fucking gibbering “whataboutism” twat.

Are you really this god damned mentally disabled? Or was this comment a dare the other Trisomy 21 kids on the short bus put you up to?

Savage and Keck are not directing the use of tax payer money, shit for brains. But if they were then we’d all ask them to release their finances to review for conflicts of interest.

Do you even understand why disclosure forms became a standard practice for public office holders? Or did your home schooling in the bunker not cover American politics.

Dumb fuck.

The Stranger is nothing more than the media arm of the socialist party. As media they have the power to influence government; don't stand there and spew out lies about them being simply private citizens. They want to run the town, even the state, but from a short distance; kind of like a bushwhacker.

16

First time I have read this author I believe. My take away is the author is a hater, right or wrong. Read the article and determine if it is reporting or hate? As a retired tax preparer (CPA), I doubt this author could understand a business income tax return. Can you imagine a hateful person ready Trump's thousands of pages of tax return and making a fully educated comment? And I understand that he is audited every year. Did the article make you want to vote for Mr. Rossi? I wonder why it was written? Oh yes, haters have to hate!

17

@15 so you you really are an ignorant fuckwit.

And don’t understand the difference between private citizens and public servers and why, say, a financial stake in a particular private construction contractor who does, say, highway construction, might be important to know before electing an official who overseas and approves highway construction bids. Does that rattle a few dusty neurons, you festering shit bag?

No. You don’t understand. Because the umbilical cord cut off vital oxygen.

Go back to your stale Cheeto strewn burrow and contemplate for as long as your gold fish capable mind allows why politicians occupy a unique strata in our society and why they require unique transparency.

18

How long has it been since Rossi had a job? He's been living campaign donations for decades hasn't he?

My money's on @16 as the Rossi sock puppet. Fuck Tim Eyman, but at least he comes on here in person.

19

@5 If a lefty lib did the same thing I am pretty sure that people would call them out on it.

We require transparency and accountability of our elected public servants. Tax returns are one of those ways of being both transparent and accountable. When I served in the Army, there was a requirement for the officers and civilian contractors to disclose their financial interests. This was to avoid any issues of impropriety.

20

@Dr. Zaius....You need to calm down a bit; I am not an ignorant fuckwit nor do I have Downs syndrome. Stone throwing is common in the media especially the media that is pure yellow journalism as is the Stranger. They wish to push a narrow political agenda in a tabloid format with cheap sensational headlines and in this case they are not really private citizens. They are no different than their political favorites. Get yourself some professional help; maybe some prozac. You remind me of the angry young man whose heart always braeks and is boring as hell. Now relax and don't go around smashing your toys.
