I've enjoyed the protesters trying to make this a climate change vs greedy oil company issue. It must have been way to painful to admit Trudeau and the can-do-no-wrong Canadian government are the ones pushing this.

2

Imagine being those other people on that balcony in Paris just watching the baby dangle there, and doing nothing while the random guy off the street scales the fucking building.

In life, never be the balcony people. You probably shouldn't try to be the guy climbing the façade either, but never be the balcony people.

Without reading the story I'm going to guess the firestarter didn't know how to dispose of a flag blanket? (it makes a halfassed political statement)

I thought Trudeau was a "feel-good" politician, who wears colorful socks and marches in Pride Parades. It turns out he's just another phony, corporate, neo-liberal phony.

@2
They're in a different hotel room, there's a wall in the way. The guy kind of tries, but he doesn't risk his own neck. Yeah, don't be that guy.
Also never be the parents who left their 4yo alone in a hotel room (I think they're facing charges).

@ 1 & 4,

It's all about jobs. The economy in Alberta went into free-fall when the oil price crashed a few years ago, and it's only just recently began recovering. That said, the NDP and the Green party control the BC government, and there's plenty they can do legally to bust up the project.

I thought Trudeau was a "feel-good" politician, who wears colorful socks and marches in Pride Parades. It turns out he's a courageous far-sighted leader looking out for the common good of his nation and it's people.

@7 "... I refuse on principal ..."

It's "principle," unless you're standing defiantly on a school administrator.

10

@5: It's a divider, but an able bodied person can easily navigate that and get to the other balcony. The divider itself is very narrow, and the other people can actually reach the baby, if you can find the right pictures of the event.

@9:

Or someone who speaks lines on-camera...

I wonder if they'll fine Mr. Flag (blanket) Burner several million dollars, or if that's only something we do to upstart teenagers who accidentally start wildfires.

12

TWO 1000-year rainstorms in last TWO years. Cue Cliff Mass who will tell us that global warming doesn't fuck up global weather patterns nor makes storms more powerful and disastrous! Wonder if his home is flood proof.

13

@12: The canard of a 1000 years storm, 500 year storm, or 100 year storm is loosing its significance. I suggest more creative ways to generate hype.

15

A microburst destroyed my parent's vacation cabin many years ago. I suppose it could have been a poltergeist though. Where's Craig T. Nelson when you need him?

16

Fuck you, Justin Trudeau, Kinder Morgan, and the insatiably gluttonous fossil fuel industry for threatening to destroy the entire region and ecosystems of Puget Sound, Strait of Juan de Fuca, and the Salish Sea all for the 1%'s mighty looney!
@6 Original Andrew: Let's hope that the NDP and the Green Party in British Columbia, Canada can and will do just that--bust up this disastrous project before irreparable damage is done to this part of the world. Too much would be lost.

Please wait...

all of the time.
