Yipee! And guess what, Republicans? It get businesses the fuck OUT of the providing healthcare biz! They can concentrate on doing what they do best -- something else businessy.

Win. Win. Win.

And The Donald, signing that piece of legislation into Law, could look like a Hero / Saviour.

Sounds pretty damn Good to me.

Oh, and all you butbutbut-we-can't-AFFORD-it-at-this-time!
concern trolls can just take a flying fucking leap.
You're fully covered!

Time for that Wall Street Transaction Tax, peeps.
Move on it, whilst it's HOT.

(Think of it! WE could join the rest of the Industrialized World!)
(Oh, the Humanity!)

Some healthcare plans are so truly terrible - yet at the same time so unbelievably expensive - that I've often wondered if businesses sometimes use them to somehow launder money. It is the only excuse I can think of as to why businesses (especially small businesses) with no vested interest in the insurance biz would not be the strongest supporters of decoupling insurance from occupation.

I'm all for the push to make healthcare affordable in America again. I haven't had insurance for years because of how broken the system is and how it ultimately equates to me throwing away money. But as nice as it sounds, there's exactly 0% chance of it happening while the GOP controls even one branch of the government, and even less while they have a stranglehold on all of them.

This is inevitable. Politicians need to either get on board or step aside.

If you want it to fail do this:
"Time for that Wall Street Transaction Tax, peeps.
Move on it, whilst it's HOT."

Just like the "head count tax" it would go down in flames. The GOP would kill it as soon as they had a majority. SC would probably nix it for some obscure reason.

I get you want free stuff, but to keep it you gonna have to contribute.

A consistent source of funding is required. No vehicle/ Gas/ Latte or soft drink/ tobacco taxes. I would like a Tax on Trump voters but let's be realistic.

We should have a payroll tax that finances this like most developed countries . Employers would be reducing their costs so it "could" even out.

To allow a transition, phase in the coverage so drop the medicare eligibility age to 50 and under 21 for a few years then continue to lower the eligibility range to cover everyone.

Continue to allow private insurance like some other countries have, folks want to pay extra or are philosophically against medicare no problem but your premium should not be tax deductible .
At the beginning it would be expensive, eventually it should balance out. The other benefits are that medicaid, CHIP and all the band-aid federal / state/ local gradually programs go away. VA medical could also go away.

But don't underestimate the ability of the US medical industrial complex figuring out how to charge you $1000 for a Tylenol. It's what they are good at.

I am eligible under current rules next year, I work and have insurance. I didn't suggest 50 because it would benefit me.

The polling really needs to ask the 2nd question of do you support increased taxes to pay for it (I do) Vox covered a poll that showed 55% said yes but when told about increased taxes 19% of that 55% said no longer supported it. Got some work to do.

8

@7 They should also ask if you support not paying premiums to private insurers and if you support no longer having to pay co-pays.

The other advantage to medicare for all is literally, "Freedom," How many peoplework in jobs they don't like, because they are afraid to lose their insurance? How about people remain in relationships they don't like because they are reliant on someone elses coverage? Or people who are unable to pursue goals or ambitions in new locations because they can't afford to lose their coverage? Medicare for all will take care of these issues and bring freedom to a lot of people who are stuck in undesirable circumstances.

@6

"I get you [me] want free stuff... "

Like every other country the industrialized / civilized World 'gives' to its Citizens?

Like all those Walmart workers on foodstamps and medicare and subsidized housing, but their employers (the richest fucking fambly on the fucking Planet -- spose there's any Connection there, jak?) won't fucking PAY them enough to live like decent human beings.

"Free Stuff." Please. It's only freestuff when it doesn't go to Billionaires.

I'm not saying the selfish sonsabitches currently running D.C. (into the fucking Ground) are gonna ever even Consider that shit. What I AM saying is, there's Momentum now. We, the People have / will have the Opportunity. IF we capitalize.

I'm saying FUCK the GOP.

Thanks for the Tip.
