Her revolutionary hero is a British Celtic queen of the Iceni tribe. Go figure. Sarah Smith's campaign

The Stranger-endorsed Democrat is running against Congressman Adam Smith, aka (and lol) "old sourpuss," a 22-year Democratic incumbent in the 9th Congressional District, which represents Tacoma/Bellevue/South Seattle.

During the AMA, Smith slammed her rival for receiving "70% of his funding from corporations and corporate pacs" and voting for the Patriot Act, CISPA, and PROMESA (a bill designed to stabilize Puerto Rico's debt) out of obligation to his donors.

She also said she'd back California Rep. Barbra Lee for House Chair if the Democrats take back the house. Rep. Lee announced her bid for the seat on Monday.

But Smith kinda dodged a question about Universal Basic Income, dismissing fears of automation by saying "if anyone's ever had a Roomba, they know just how finicky AI is still." Uh...automation is real and the robots will take over in ten years.

Smith also cited Queen Boudicca as her favorite revolutionary figure, saying "She raised an 80k strong army after the Romans killed her family and raped her daughters. Surprise, Rome, she kicked you out of Britannia. Surprise, women are strong, powerful, and relentless."
