I love this time of the year! I only wish they were in town for an entire week with shows throughout the day!

2

Plenty of liberals love the Blue Angels and find the complains silly

3

Wait, why would someone from California not be familiar with the Blue Angels? They're a staple here as well.

4

WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSH!

5

@2: Except the one that lots of fossil fuel unnecessarily burned that contributes to climate change.

6

@3 Seriously. San Francisco Fleet Week, Mirimar Air Show, etc.

Not to further bum Lester. But, the Thunderboat hydros used WW2 surplus V-12 aircraft engines from P-51 mustangs and British Spitfires then began using Turbine engines from military Chinook helicopters. I miss the V-12 piston boats. R.I.P. Bill Muncey (Atlas Van Lines) & Dean Chenoweth (Miss Budweiser). Why is the Stranger the no fun crowd.

I for one love them. I live at the end of Boeing field so they rattle the windows good and proper! It's fun to sit in the little park there and have them take off right over you.

It is largely unnecessary, but you have to marvel at the skill of the pilots and the magic that is human engineering.

But after all, isn't most of what we do in life unnecessary?

Do you need to have your 32 ounce iced coffee drink everyday? Is that fifth piece of fried chicken really necessary? Do you NEED six different dildos? Does this theme park HAVE to exist?

Almost everything fun in life is unnecessary and wasteful. Enjoy the buffett while you still can!

Lets not forget that airshows also tend to be unsafe with a lot of horrific accidents that kill bystsanders and the pilots on a regular basis. But maybe that's what makes them so fun to watch? Like Nascar but paid for by the tax payer.
