The Stranger is searching for an editorial intern to help cover Seattle's fall art and performance season. Specifically, we are looking for someone to help us cover nighttime arts events in the city (performance, music, art) and write about them in a lively, informed way the next morning on our blog, Slog. The candidate should be a quick writer with a hunger for reporting. They shouldn't be afraid to fight for an idea, story, or artist that seems a little out there. (Sure, Jell-O wrestling can be an art!) A sense of humor is a must.

The bulk of the fall arts internship will be attending shows around town and writing reviews (two to three per week). The candidate should be available for a Tuesday morning arts meeting, but otherwise, the hours are flexible. In addition to writing reviews for Slog, this position will also include writing previews and Don't Miss picks for The Stranger's print newspaper. This position pays $15 an hour and is 15 hours a week for 12 weeks. Women and people of color are highly encouraged to apply. People with experience writing about Seattle neighborhoods outside of Capitol Hill and Downtown are also highly encouraged to apply.

If this sounds like you, please send us a list of Seattle shows or arts events that you are excited about attending September - November, as well as a resume and three writing samples to editorialintern@thestranger.com by September 4.
