The actual hurricane killed a small number of people, but the ensuing months of not having electricity or access to certain things killed many more.

The government of PR is responsible for their infrastructure and the handing out of aid. The aid was delivered by FEMA, but much of it was lost or rotted due to the failure of the PR government to coordinate their relief efforts.

A few of the "heroic" PR mayors/politicians are now being charged with corruption for misappropriating aid.

Keep in mind, that per regulations, FEMA gets the supplies to designated drop points, where they are then distributed by the local/state government. Ones the supplies are at the designated zone, FEMA no longer has any oversight into how they goods are distributed, because they are then legally the property of that stae/local government.

Ha, that should be "once" rather than "ones" in that last sentence.

You can always count on Teddy to whatabout to ensure we give the trump administration the benefit of the doubt in any situation. I mean we have blog post to what the Obama FEMA did and as we all know there's no different between FEMA during different admins - that's what Brownie did such a heckofajob during Katrina right?

And PR is responsible for their infrastructure as Teddy solemnly notes which also happened to suck before and then completely get smashed to pieces - it's almost as if the US government could have played a larger role had they even wanted to, which they clearly didn't. The people of PR seemed to want a better response tho, but Teddy is happy to give the trump admin a gold star for doing the very very minimum. โ€œHereโ€™s some paper towels, regs say we canโ€™t help you any more than this I guess, buhbye!โ€

I get the feeling this is what Teddyโ€™s insurance company does too.

@6: Did I say anything that was inaccurate, or are you just mad?

Because you seem to be rambling about things I never even brought up, like Trump, "whatabouts" and Katrina.

I'm sorry you are ignorant about what FEMA does, but it is no one's fault but your own.

8

Shorter @7 - "Why are you mad? All I'm saying is PR deserved it; let me refer to a 7 year old blog post about the rules from Obama's FEMA to justify it again."

10

@9 - Why didnt you accuse Obama of not being born here while you were at it? Saving that one maybe?

12

@11 - Ah, so you're basically just like Tucker Carlson.
