While the Facebook model ("subscribe to my posts") is a good one, their operation/financial model ("remain secretive") is clearly not. At least not good for us. And their data model ("track and associate EVERYTHING") is creepy.

On the bright side, "More people are taking Facebook breaks and deleting the app from their phones"
https://www.theverge.com/2018/9/5/17822736/facebook-break-delete-app
"The Facebook exodus among young people is real, and disenchantment with the leading social media platform is extending to older users, too. According to new data from Pew Research Center"

Farcebook may not go away (like LiveJournal, or MySpace) but it has begun to wither, so we can take some solace in that.

No fan of Facebook here, but this is exactly the type of data that competitors want to see. That puts Facebook in a defensible position. Maybe we have too many homeless lawyers in Seattle and this is a way to get them off the streets...
