Senator Cantwell currently leads the Trump-loving, former news anchor Susan Hutchison by 30 points. Hutchison is surely hoping a good showing here will help legitimize her campaign. We're about halfway through at this point.

Updates to follow.

The debate just came to a close. I'll have more to say in a few, but here's a brief recap. Hutchison spent her time dodging questions, attacking Cantwell for random shit, spreading conspiracy theories about Soros paying protestors to oppose Kavanaugh, and issuing literally nonsensical statements such as, “I talked to the CIA about ten years ago, and they talked about their need for experts because cyber security is such a top priority right now." Cantwell did what incumbents do. She maintained a measured tone and tried to float above the crazy by talking about bills she's passed or backed to address the issues brought up by the moderators. Essex Porter, Mary Nam, and Brandi Kruse did fine in terms of asking semi-tough questions to both candidates and keeping the conversation going. But I'm kinda tired of Kruse being mad about people being mad in politics and somehow missing the hypocrisy.
