I can understand why some would grovel at a billionaire's feet to get something while he is alive. Still, when the billionaire who had done the most to destroy the Seattle I knew and supported the worst of Republican Party died, I expected celebrations and cheering. Sadly, I doubt his death will slow Vulcan's destruction of the city.

Just wondering how many jobs Greenwood bob created. I’m sure it’s lots and lots

3

Is the creation of jobs the standard by which a man's life is measured?

4

i wouldn't call him an oligarch.

"can a billionaire play the blues?" works just fine.

It certainly helps. Because those jobs helped better the lives of those who got them.

Or you could rest your laurels on being a stoner in greenwood....

Sawant needs to get run over by a bus.

First and foremost, my deepest sympathies to Paul's friends and family. He certainly lived life to the fullest and achieved a lot. My issue however is that his accomplishments in music pale in comparison to the many many great unheard musicians in Seattle who can't find a gig and will never have a story written about them. The Stranger has every right to focus on whatever aspect of the arts scene they would like, but they very rarely go beneath the skin. Most of the stuff that is promoted locally is done for a very specific and small audience and that shows in the night life around here. If that is a good business model for the Stranger (I suspect it is), then have at it.

Leni Riefenstahl also told everyone "we put differences aside for the movie".

9 - Your post is too clever clever for the SLOGGERS.
They would need to know:
* Who is Leni Riefenstahl?

I don't mean to disrespect the departed, but I'm pretty sure that all the guitar solos in that tune were played by Joe Walsh. They are all slide guitar, and Walsh is the only player credited as playing slide on the album (per Allen's web site). Still, it is worth a listen; thanks for shedding light on this music.

@2 Well, since the only real job creators are the workers who spend their paychecks, I've created far more jobs than Paul Allen, without also oppressing my fellow workers. Oh, and it's out of town Fascists like you that need to be run over by public transportation, not Comrade Sawant. Truly, we need more principled leaders like her in politics!
