At the beginning of the season I thought the Seahawks would resemble the Mariners. Pretty good, just not good enough to make the playoffs. The Seahawks wouldn't start out on fire, then cool down (thus making their fans suffer) but the end result would be the same. Which is not to say the Seahawks might not slip into the playoffs -- it is much easier to get a wildcard spot than in baseball -- but my guess is they will fall short.

For the most part this season, the Seahawks haven't been up and down. They have just beat bad teams, and lost to good ones. Every victory this year has come at the hands of a losing team. Even when you take away their loss to us, the teams are losers. The Raiders and Cardinals are especially bad -- two of the worst teams in the league. The Cowboys and Lions are a bit better, but they still aren't that good. The Cowboys are 3-4, the Lions are 3-5. Oh, and we beat the Lions coming off of a bye week (when most teams win).

Meanwhile, we also managed to lose to a weak, 3-6 Denver team, giving them one of their few victories. It was in Denver, but three teams have won there this year. Those are really good teams, and we just aren't a really good team. We are mediocre.

That was a turd. And now it looks like it's going to take 10 wins to make the playoffs in the NFC. Fortunately the Seahawks' final 5 games are either at home or against the Niners.

Go Sounders!

As Paul goes, so go the Hawks?
Ah, well, there's always baseball...
And curling!

Sweezy lost the game. To falsely start on a no-clock play from the 1-yard-line is simply inexcusable.

Ok, it wasn’t all his fault. But still! Goddamn it, Sweezy!
