I'm pretty sure Alaska has been offering decent beer on their flights for a while now. Alaska Amber, while a bit sweet for my taste, is still a shitload better than Bud. I think Alaska Brewing makes a fair number of very good beers, but their flagship is weak, and is the often the only thing offered. I haven't been impressed with Kona Brewing either, and they may suffer from the same problem (I don't know, I haven't had many of their beers). Hales Ales is similar. Their standard beers are pedestrian, but their seasonals are fantastic.

Anyhow, interesting you should mention the relationship between cannabis and hops. I've always thought they were related somehow -- thanks for confirming that. Back in the '80s, when the indoor growing revolution occurred, there was a great magazine called Sensimilla Tips, designed for the pot grower. Towards the end of their run, they focused on "bud beer", meaning beer with weed in it. I've only had this once, when a local brewery made it (on the down low) and it was delicious. I'm sure other breweries have done this, along with many a home brewer. To my knowledge, it is all illegal, which is ridiculous. I really love aromatic beers (like the one you mentioned) and cannabis can be very aromatic (as you know).

Plastic cups are a waste. Drink your beer out of the can.

I haven't flown Alaska in forever. Are they still giving out religious tracts to every passenger?

Maybe give the virtue signaling a break at 38,000 feet.
