isn't "there's a horse in the hospital" the punchline to describe the craziest, shittiest hospital possible?

Not mentioned in the article but WORTH MENTIONING is that the horses defecate on command AND wear shoes. And also @1... obviously you’ve never been to the hospital in Shelton. VM has a bangin/cheap omelette in the morning. Treat yourself Sportlandia, you seem like you could use it.

Miniature horses are also the only species other than dogs to be recognized as bona fide service animals under ADA. So if there's one next to you at a restaurant or on the bus, it's allowed to be there under law.

Thank you for an interesting and informative article. I, too, have been providing animal assisted therapy services with my mini Amos (see Amos the Wonder Horse FB / website) for five years. I loved your reference to your dad, but you're right. In the end, the visits themselves do wonders for recipients, whether staff or patients. I've seen non responsive people "awaken" at the touch of the horse. PS In addition to our therapy services, we also have a bullying prevention program called "Just Say Whoa® to Bullying." It's now being used by trained mini horse teams around the country and in Canada and the UK. :)
