That last video made me forget all the bad stuff in the world for a few seconds. Thanks Michael!

The Seattle Times comments section on the upzone is an absolute shitshow of the most selfish nimbys imaginable. What a greedy bunch of crybabies.

Someone definitely wants to say that all presidents authorize assassinations and maybe add that Trump didn't order Khashoggi's murder but Obama deliberately sentence Navy Seals (now considered slow inefficient) to kill bin Laden.

I wonder who would say that.

5

@2: I didn't get that impression.

6

@4 deliberately sent Navy Seals. . .

7

@5 Considering your handle here, I doubt you would.

Along with Queen Anne and Magnolia, Wallingford has some of the screechiest nimbys in Seattle. Just not as much cash to pay their army of attorneys to delay housing development as long as possible.

8

@7: Your reliance on the 'NIMBY' canard is tedious. I do support up-zones in some areas and that map seems mostly reasonable. There are two differences of opinions. Keeping some of our areas the same and preserving sunlight and other quality of life factors are as important as any other consideration. All cities have these growing pains, and reasonable people can make compromises and come to effective solutions without all the bitter stereotyping and sniping.

@2&7- STFU, you whiney twit. I'm just gonna guess you can't afford a back yard and are just jealous of those that can.

11

It is beyond my comprehension that we could be tasking our military with firing on unarmed civilians.
All service personnel should be reminded they have a duty to disobey unlawful orders re the Nuremberg Principles, esp Principle IV Article C.
Our society already suffers a terrible burden of PTSD afflicted veterans and now our President is proposing to ask them to commit cold-blooded murder?
Un-fucking-believable.

12

@10 LOL...keep tellin' yourself that, Bucko!

13

I fully blame Fred and Mary Anne Cloud Trump for the disastrous creation of World Threat #1, Donald Jackass Trump.
@11 kallipugos: I know, right? As a U.S. veteran, I am sickened by this shameful disgrace of an administration.

14

11

Yeah, its absolutely shameful. What's become of us? We're a long way from "send us your poor and huddled masses" or even "love thy neighbor."

15

@13: Yeah, Fred and Mary did the act on steamy October 1945 evening in Queens. The ambiance probably included cigarettes and cocktails and Moonlight Serenade playing in the distance. Mary might have sensed a demon was growing inside her but dismissed it as morning sickness. Kind of a heavy cross to bear, the poor dear - after all - you have to give her some sympathy as abortion was illegal in those days.

No matter what your plans, life will upset your apple cart.
