Seattle to settle lawsuit against Ed Murray: The city will be coughing up $75,000 to settle a lawsuit against the former mayor by his former foster child, Jeff Simpson. The lawsuit alleges that Murray used his position as mayor to defame Simpson and discredit his accusations against Murray. The settlement, though costly, allows Seattle to avoid the costs of a trial, according to Seattle City Attorney Pete Holmes.

Driver of UW bus that crashed was driving too fast: The bus slipped on a turn going east on I-90 en route to the Apple Cup in Pullman on Thanksgiving evening. It toppled and rolled, injuring 45 people. The driver, Nancy Aguilar, is facing a citation for driving too fast. It’ll cost her $161. There may be other citations, however.

A mailman was robbed! Stop the presses, this is serious. Three men have been arrested for holding up a postal service worker at gunpoint. They haven’t been charged yet. The attempted armed robbery occurred in Lynnwood.

Battery buses are the future! King County Metro is turning over a new, very-green leaf. There are some long-range battery-powered buses in its current fleet. The buses can travel 140 miles per charge! This is a step toward Metro’s zero-emission goal by 2040.

Ukraine enacted martial law as a response. The President of Ukraine believes that Russia is planning an all-out ground invasion.
