Gonzaga University was where bad Catholic priests were sent to retire: At least 20 Catholic priests who had a history of sexual misconduct in the Northwest ended up at Gonzaga University when they hit retirement age. Most of these men worked in small Alaskan Native villages and Indian reservations. None of the scandals were ever made public knowledge. The priests were quietly sent to Cardinal Bea House on Gonzaga’s campus. At least there, they could be “monitored.” Gonzaga allegedly didn’t know about their records.

Sen. Kevin Ranker under investigation for harassment: According to records obtained by the Associated Press, the investigation is about "sexual harassment and hostile workplace issues." Ranker, of Orcas Island, agreed to cooperate with the investigation.

Tacoma Public Schools has another round of layoffs: So far this year, the school district has laid off 37 employees. That saves $19 million in the budget. This most recent round of layoffs saw five people lose their jobs. Another six positions are expected to be terminated.

Seattle one of the few places where homelessness grew in 2018: Nationally, the number of homeless people remained pretty much the same (it rose 0.3 percent). In Seattle, it went up 4 percent. Lay some lilies on Tumblr’s grave today: The microblogging platform is most likely going to kick the bucket after the new rules banning adult content went into effect today. This, while a big bummer, also serves as a grim portent for what FOSTA-SESTA will do to the internet as we know it. It's a canary in the coal mine, warning of a more censored, puritanical internet.

This whole thing exposes something interesting about Congress’ priorities: Eli Sanders takes a look at how this whole FOSTA-SESTA (anti-sex trafficking law that’s putting the pressure on sites to have cleaner content) exposes Congress’ inaction on paid online disinformation.

Stephen Miller sprayed fake hair on his head and didn’t think anyone would notice: The far-right political advisor for Donald Trump should really just shave his head all the way. He’s got the politics already, why not buy into the skinhead thing completely?

It’s gonna get juicy out: Here in the lowlands of Seattle we’ll be getting pounded with a river of moisture. Keep an eye on that blue around the mountains. Snow, baby!

This is how I feel when it's raining:

A petition to repeal Initiative 1639 is dead on arrival: The goal was to get enough signatures to garner a White House response in order to, in the words of the former Congressional candidate who put the thing together, "abolish the unlawful, unjust, and unconstitutional" gun reform laws. That's not going to happen. Guess we'll just have to live with sensible gun policy!

Check out this girl play basketball: She’s a high schooler. She tears that court up.

There’s ample evidence to indict Trump: According to Fox News’s “senior judicial analyst.” Yeah, you read that correctly. That happened on Fox News. Trump is also now the subject of 17 federal investigations.

The Russian election hack of 2016 targeted black Americans: The most significant campaign run by Russia and their puppet social media accounts was meant to sway black American voters. They also really used Instagram a lot, possibly more than Facebook. And meant to suppress Democrat voter turnout.

CBS’s Leslie Moonves won’t receive severance package: Moonves, the former chief executive of CBS, is embroiled in a sexual misconduct scandal and will not receive $120 million on his way out the CBS door. That’s because he lied about the allegations, hid evidence, and was a general scumbag. CBS found that there were grounds to just fire the bastard.
