Eh I thought Inception was basically crap (except for the very cool dream city at the end which looked uncannily like some of my dream cities). Maybe not as crappy as Interstellar though. What about Ex Machina?

If your definition of "good" Sci-Fi film is lots of gloomy characters, a grainy, sooty visual design, a strong preference for nighttime scenes, post-production that carefully scrubs out any bright colors, all wrapped around an overt leftist political theme, then you should check out Gareth Edwards' "Monsters."

Trust me, Charles, you'll love it.
