As far as I'm concerned, anything that keeps the rubes away from Our Fair City is fine with me. Let them stew in "the heartland", with their bibles and their meth, until the robot farmers take over - at which point we can declare them surplus.

As with so many other cities, Carmen Best only got the job so she can stand in front of the camera when a white SPD officer is caught up in the next racial scandal/harassment/assault/shooting.

Portland did the same thing and it hasn't worked out so well (with having a black female police chief that openly worked with violent white nationalists and altright protesters). But lets all give Durkan and Best a hand for...well, nothing.
