And here I thought the entire history of the Twentieth Century existed to teach us that when we want to DE-humanize The Unacceptable Other, we put them in camps.

3

The real undesirables are the super rich but you want to take the cowardly way out and blame the homeless who are economic victims of corporate capitalism 1 and 2. “Class War!!!

4

Housing is human right period.

1 You are the one with outdated, zany ideas. People are tired of the freeloading wealthy benefiting from our taxes.
We have the right to survive and live well.
Don’t tell me to get a job, I was a wage slave for over fifty plus years, junior.

@3: Human brings shouldn’t reside in camps. All unsanctioned encampments are public health and safety hazards. Every one needs to be swept, every time, immediately after it appears.

@4: The homeless need homes. Encampments, sanctioned or otherwise, don’t count. We should have case workers and paths to permanent housing in every sanctioned encampment. That we do not is our shame.

Is this guy serious? Congestion tolling....but not for the people he likes. Free buses...but not for white people who live in the suburbs. Pot cafes....but cannot be owned by white people. Upzoning a predominately white neigbhorhood (does he care that I as a white person have been displaced from Magnolia HELL No). What a racist POS. Next! I am looking to vote for a moderate centrist democrat that believes in public education, climate science, gay rights AND personal responsibility and the free markets. Does this unicorn exist?

@7: “Is this guy serious?“

He seems to know about being an old-time machine politician; he’s already planning some patronage positions he can dole out to his local supporters:

“Community Policy Committee that prioritizes the voices of women of color, economically marginalized communities and members of the LGBTQIA that all members will be compensated for their expertise.”

Danny Askini has probably already applied...

Lester is a terrible reporter. Did Harrell say he was not running because of Money Morales? Everyone fucking knew he wasn't running(thank god). Until Lester confirms Money Morales pushed Harrell out, he needs to stop making shit up. No wonder Erica Barnett hates this fucking dude.

whats a "Latinx"?

11

This man is overtly racist and his "ideas"--under normal conditions--are just ridiculous. BUT, of course this IS Seattle and I'm sure he'll get some traction.

12

I disagree with some of his ideas, but I appreciate his commitment to equity.

Dude's platform reads like the results from a Social Justice Warrior Platform Randomizer. My hope is that the lefty loons will chase one another out into space during the primary and leave room for at least one coherent, pragmatic and thoughtful candidate on the final ballot.

District 2 hot take:

Morales: Establishment progressive candidate. Unwilling to put any detail on the issues page on her website, because she doesn't actually believe in anything but winning. (Right out of the Durkan playbook.)

Porter: Who? Bicyclist, possibly unabashedly engaged in the war on cars, rightfully so. Need to investigate further-- bike lobby makes a lot of noise, might introduce this name.

Peguero: Insane progressive, some need to investigate further, because Seattle can move this type to the general.

Hoffman: MyNorthwest.com right-wing, no need to investigate further.

Perkins: Cop-apologist, anti-tax, (libertarian?) right-wing, no need to investigate further.
